Eligibility Requirements
1. Applicants must hold valid ordinary foreign passports and be non-Chinese citizens.
For applicants born overseas with one or two Chinese parents, or former Chinese citizens who obtained foreign nationality: foreign nationality must be held for at least 4 full years, with physical overseas residence exceeding 2 years within the latest 4 years (9 months per year counts as one full year, deadline April 30, 2026). Former Chinese citizens must submit formal renunciation documents. Any verified Chinese nationality will result in immediate disqualification of application, admission or student status. 2. Applicants shall be physically and mentally healthy, meeting medical standards for student visas and academic study, capable of completing full campus study and daily life.
3. No criminal records or public security penalties; applicants shall maintain friendly attitudes toward China and abide by Chinese laws and university regulations.

Application Fee
Application fee is 800 RMB, payable online through the system. Fees are non-refundable and only RMB payment is accepted.
Full Required Application Documents
Senior high school graduation certificate; non-English documents must carry certified English translation. Current students may submit enrollment certificate, and original graduation certificate must be handed in before registration.
Complete high school transcript; non-percentage grading systems need official score explanation, foreign language transcripts require certified English translation.

Language proficiency certificates matching the teaching language of target majors (HSK, IELTS, TOEFL, etc.).
Personal statement written in the major's teaching language, minimum 500 words.

All documents must be uploaded as clear colored scans. Blurred or distorted photos will not be accepted. Chinese mainland entry permits, Taiwan Mainland Travel Permits or Hong Kong/Macao passports cannot be used for international student application channels.
Application Review & Admission Arrangement
Two-Stage Review Mechanism
The Office of International Student Affairs conducts preliminary qualification screening for all submitted documents. Qualified applications will be forwarded to corresponding academic schools. Schools organize material evaluation and major assessment to comprehensively evaluate applicants’ academic potential and language competence. Applicants may log into the online system to track real-time application progress.
Admission Notice Issuance
The university selects applicants based on preliminary review and school assessment results. Admission letters and JW201/JW202 visa forms will be sent to registered applicant emails. The production cycle of admission materials takes approximately 4 to 5 weeks.
On-site Registration Document Verification
All admitted students must complete in-person registration by the deadline stated on admission letters. Failure to register without valid justifications will be regarded as automatic abandonment of admission. Original passport, admission letter and JW visa forms will be checked on site. A second round of document verification will be conducted after enrollment; any falsified or inconsistent information will lead to cancellation of student status.

Visa, Insurance & On-campus Accommodation
Student Visa Policy
Applicants planning to study longer than 6 months must apply for X1 student visa. Within 30 days after entering China, students shall visit the Office of International Student Affairs to apply for student residence permit.
Mandatory Medical Insurance
All international students are required to purchase designated comprehensive medical insurance. Half-year premium: 400 CNY; full-year premium: 800 CNY. Registration will be rejected without valid insurance coverage.
