In line with the requirements of the 2026 National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day and the accompanying awareness week, and to enforce campus safety management regulations while raising fire safety awareness and emergency response skills among all faculty and students, the Logistics and Infrastructure Office, in collaboration with multiple departments, organized fire evacuation drills at Student Dormitory No.1 and the Guojiao Building (International Student Dormitory) on May 13 and 14.

The drills covered a full range of procedures: simulated fire incidents, smoke alarm activation, emergency broadcasts, on-site evacuation, fire hydrant flow tests and hands-on fire extinguisher training. The drills were meticulously arranged and followed with standard protocols, and featured seamless coordination. Thanks to clear division of labor and efficient inter-departmental cooperation, the drills fully validated the practicality of the emergency response plan.

Collectively, these activities raised fire safety awareness campus-wide. They have sharpened students’ evacuation, self-rescue and mutual aid skills, and boosted inter-departmental emergency response coordination. Moving ahead, the Logistics and Infrastructure Office will refine the long-term fire safety framework, deliver regular fire safety training, step up inspections and remediation of potential hazards, and strengthen overall emergency response capacity to fully protect students’ lives and property.
Staff members from the Department of Security, Department of Student Affairs and Overseas Students Affairs Office, together with counselors from all schools, participated in the drills.
