To encourage enrolled international students to devote themselves to academic studies, take an active part in campus activities, and provide financial support for outstanding learners, Beijing Foreign Studies University opens the application for Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students to current on-campus international students.
1. Scholarship Categories & Benefit Standards
1.1 Scholarship Categories*
Category A: Covers tuition fees, accommodation fees, living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance
Category B: Covers tuition fees, accommodation fees and comprehensive medical insurance
Category C: Covers tuition fees and comprehensive medical insurance
1.2 Benefit Standards
Tuition Fee: Full tuition exemption for one academic year, in accordance with the official annual tuition standards of BFSU.
Accommodation: Free on-campus dormitory is provided.
Off-campus accommodation allowance:
Undergraduates & Master’s students: RMB 700 per month
Doctoral students: RMB 1,000 per month
Monthly Living Allowance:
Undergraduates: RMB 2,500
Master’s students: RMB 3,000
Doctoral students: RMB 3,500
Comprehensive Medical Insurance: RMB 800 per person.

2. Eligibility Requirements
Officially enrolled full-time international degree-seeking students (excluding final-year graduating students) who have completed regular registration procedures
Law-abiding with no disciplinary violations or bad records
Friendly towards China and diligent in study
Excellent academic performance and good attendance record
3. Application Period
Mid-May (subject to the official annual scholarship selection notice)
4. Application Procedure
Log in to Digital BFSU and enter the One-stop Service Platform to fill in the BFSU International Student Scholarship Application Form. Please refer to the attached guidelines for detailed operations.
5. Scholarship Confirmation
The selection process consists of personal application, faculty recommendation and university comprehensive review. Assessment focuses on academic results, attendance and daily performance. Qualified candidates will be selected on merit.
The final winner list will be published on this official website. Candidates who pass the public notice without objections will be officially awarded the scholarship.
6. Important Regulations
This scholarship is only open to self-financed students. Recipients of other government scholarships are not eligible to apply.
Applicants shall maintain an average academic score of no less than 80 points.
Scholarship recipients are exempted from tuition fees for the next academic year.
No supplementary recommendation will be arranged for applicants who fail to meet standards or are disqualified during public notice.
All applicants shall be fully responsible for the authenticity of submitted materials. Any falsification shall be borne by the applicant personally.
*Note: In principle, only Category C Scholarship is available for undergraduate and master’s degree students.
