The relevant work and arrangements are announced as follows for the commencement of the 2023 scholarship review for international students enrolling at BFSU:

1.Types and Quota of Scholarships

1.1 Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS) for international students, quota: 20, including:

10 undergraduate students (full scholarship, covering the tuition fee of 2023-2024 academic year) and 4 (half scholarship, covering the tuition fee of 2023fall semester)

6 postgraduate students (full scholarship, covering the tuition fee of 2023-2024 academic year)

1.2 BFSU Scholarship for Outstanding Self-funded International Students (BFSUS) , quota: 32, including:

First-prize scholarship, 8 students (granting 15,000 yuan per person)

Second-prize scholarship, 11 students (granting 12,000 yuan per person)

Third-prize scholarship, 13 students (granting 10,000 yuan per person)

2. Qualifications of Applicants

The applicants should be international students who are officially receiving academic education at BFSU (non-graduate students) and complete the registration procedure on time;

The applicants shall be law-abiding and have no violation and other misconduct records;

The applicants shall take a positive attitude towards China and love learning;

The applicants shall excel at academic performance with good attendance records.

3. Application Time:

From May 17^th, 2023 to June 7^th, 2023

4. Methods of Scholarship Application

Applicants should send a scanned copy of the application materials toscholarship@bfsu.edu.cnand indicate “Apply for Scholarship +School+ Name + Student ID” in the subject of the email.

5. Application Materials (Chinese or English)

(1)Application Form of BFSU Scholarship for International Students;

(2) Transcript of the previous year (including attendance record) ;

(3) Other supporting application materials that the applicant deems necessary to submit, such as teachers’ reference or commends, letter of recommendation, certificates of award, etc.

6. Confirmation of Scholarship Results

The scholarship selection and review are conducted through the student’s application, college recommendation and comprehensive assessment by BFSU, with its emphasis on students’ academic performance, attendance and daily performance, etc. The scholarship should be awarded to students based on the principle of merit selection, and the type and amount of scholarship will be determined as well. The list of scholarship result will be publicized on this website at the end of June 2023.Awardees will only be eligible for the scholarship if no objections arise from the scholarship results until the expiry of the publicity period.

7. Special Note

7.1 BGS for international students is established by Beijing Municipal Government to attract outstanding students to study in Beijing, especially for new international students pursuing academic study. Certain quotas of scholarship are provided to students by BFSU in order to give full play to the benefits of the scholarship and encourage students to work hard and stay positive. The quotas of scholarship will depend on the current scholarship distribution and are subject to annual public announcements. Awardees are eligible for tuition reduction and exemption, and will not be issued in the form of award. Students who have received scholarship for the next semester or the next academic year are not allowed to apply for the scholarship;

7.2 The BFSU Scholarship for Outstanding Self-financed Overseas Students shall only be applied for by self-financed international students at BFSU, and the scholarship shall be granted in one lump sum to their own commercial bank accounts in China;

7.3 Students are allowed to apply for the two types of scholarships mentioned above at the same time, but students will be awarded only one of the two scholarships at most;

7.4 The quota of scholarship may be granted depending on the application and review, and BFSU will not make any additional recommendation if the applicants fail to meet the required standards or are disqualified during the public announcement period;

7.5 All application materials submitted by the applicants will not be returned whether their scholarships are granted or not, and students who are not granted with scholarship will not be notified separately;

7.6 A semester-based review system shall be implemented for BGS students. For full scholarship students, their college will assess their academic performance at the end of the first semester of scholarship funding based on their academic performance, attendance, daily performance, etc. For international students who fail to pass the assessment, their scholarship for the second semester will be cancelled and they will be treated as automatic dropouts or transferred to self-funded students.

7.7 Applicants shall be responsible for the authenticity of the materials provided, otherwise the adverse consequences occurred shall be borne by the applicant himself or herself if any fraudulent acts are found in application.
