Beijing Foreign Studies University (hereinafter referred to as the university) issued the following statement in May 2019.

As stipulated in the Nationality Law of The People’s Republic of China, the People’s Republic of China does not recognize dual nationality for any Chinese nationals.

The university does not accept Chinese nationals holding foreign passports to apply for our degree courses or majors as foreigners. Any applicants who apply for the university should declare the nationality of themselves and their parents voluntarily and truthfully. Whenever the university finds an applicant to hide his/her Chinese nationality or forge certificates, we are entitled to cancel his/her admission and study qualifications. All the adverse consequences resulted are borne by the applicants themselves.

In view of this, applicants who are of Chinese descent are requested to truthfully declare the nationality of themselves and their parents. Any of the above candidates who have doubts about their nationality may consult the admission department before submitting or paying application fee. The application fee will not be refunded once it is collected. Please take it seriously and consider carefully before application.
