4. How to apply

Please send the scanned application materials to scholarship@bfsu.edu.cn with the email subject “Apply for BGS+Name+Student number”.

5. Application materials (in Chinese or English)

a. Application Form for Beijing Government Scholarship;

b. The applicant’s academic transcripts; (with attendance record)

c. Letters of recommendation from the applicant’s department;

d. Other supporting materials that the applicant considers necessary, such as comments from teachers, letters of recommendation, certificates of awards, etc.

6. Scholarship Confirmation

The scholarship evaluation is carried out in subsequent procedures including the student’s own application, recommendation from departments, and comprehensive school assessment. The student’s academic performance, attendance, and daily performance will be mainly evaluated, and the scholarship funding qualification will be awarded based on the candidate’ merit. The list of winners will be announced through this website at the end of June 2020. Scholarship funding eligibility is granted only after the public notice period expires without objection from the public.

7. Special Note:

a. The Beijing International Student Scholarship is established by Beijing Municipal Government to attract outstanding students to study in Beijing. The total amount of the scholarship funding is limited. In order to give full play to the benefits of the scholarship, it is mainly targeted for overseas new degree students. In order to encourage students to study hard, BFSU provides a small number of slots to the students on campus. The number of slots will depend on how many slots are unoccupied for that term and subject to the annual release of figures;

b. Students can participate in multiple tuition-funded scholarship applications at the same time, but eventually they can only get one of them at most, and those who have already received tuition-funded scholarships cannot apply for other scholarship programs;

c. Quotas for one category can be used for another category if necessary and appropriate, depending on the evaluation situation. BFSU will not add recommended candidates when the applicants fail to meet the standards or their qualifications for participation are canceled during the public notification period;

d. The submitted application materials will NOT be returned regardless of acceptance or denial. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

e. The applicant is responsible for the authenticity of the materials provided. Applicants should bear all negative consequences when any dishonesty or falsification is confirmed.
