To support more outstanding international students to study at Beijing Foreign Studies University for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, students who have submitted the "Individuals at their own expense" program can apply to BFSU for the Beijing Government Scholarship for New International Students according to their situation.

I.Deadline for application

Spring Intake: December 20, 2023

Fall Intake: June 20, 2024

II. How to apply

Please send the application materials to the school you have applied for with the email title“Apply for BGS+Applicant’s Name+Passport No.+ Name of School”. （An Email list is at the bottom.)

III. Application steps

(1) First sign in to the International Student Service System of BFSU (https://study.bfsu.edu.cn) and finish their online application. Please download Application Form for Foreign Students to BFSU for future use.

(2) Send the following documents (in Chinese or English) to designated email box.

a.Application Form for Foreign Students to BFSU

a.Application Form for Beijing Government Scholarship;

c. The applicant’s highest academic qualification and academic transcripts;

d. HSK or certificate for English proficiency;

e. Other supporting materials that the applicant considers necessary, such as letters of recommendation, certificates of awards, etc.

VI. Scholarship confirmation

BFSU reviewsthe applicant’s scholarship application documents and selects outstanding ones to grand the scholarship. A list of all winners will be announced on the website of Overseas Students Affairs Office of Beijing Foreign Studies University. The fair’s duration is five working days.

V. Important notices

a. Applicants should first meet the admission requirements of the2024Admission Guide for International Students of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Applicants should be from BFSU majors that enroll international students. Please refer to the Admission Guide and Enrollment Majors;

b. Applicants should first sign in to the International Student Service System of BFSU and finish their online application. BFSU will send an Admission Notice (Letter) if one is accepted for enrollment. For students who fail to be admitted, the awarded scholarship will be canceled automatically.

c. The scholarship can be only used as tuition by means of reduction and exemption. Scholarship standard: Full(allorone academic year); Partial (one semester).

d. The submitted application documents will NOT be returned regardless of acceptance or denial. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

e. The applicant is responsible for the authenticity of the materials provided. Applicants should bear all consequences when any dishonesty or falsification is confirmed.
