Dear Students,welcome to Beijing Foreign Studies University.Below is some important information about your study at BFSU.Please read it carefully.
1.Arrival:Pick-up at the airport
a.From9a.m. to7 p.m. on February 20thandfrom 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on February 21th, BFSU staff will wait at the exit for International Arrival at Terminal 3to assist you with transportation to campus.February 20th the school bus will leave the airport at10:30am, 12:00 am, 2:00 p.m.and7:00p.m.On February 21ththe school bus will leave the airport at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
(BFSU staff will hold a sign and wait at the Exit forInternational Arrival at Terminal 3.)
b.If you do not arrive on February 20thor21st, there are three ways to go to BFSU.
1)You can take the airport shuttle bustoGong Zhu Fen(Line 4) and get off at SuzhouQiao. BFSU is300 meters south of this stop. If you’re not confident in your oral Chinese or you have too much luggage, this may not be a good choice.
2)Right out of the airport there is a Taxi Stand.Make sure that you get into a taxi at the taxi stand.Please get off at Beijing Foreign Studies University (Xisanhuan Beilu No.2, Haidianqu).It will cost you about 150 RMB to take a taxi to BFSU (40 km) Don’t forget to ask for the receipt (fa piao) to verify the bill.
3)Take the Line “Airport Express” from Terminal 2 or Terminal 3, transfer to Line 10 at the “Sanyuanqiao” station, then transfer to Line 4 at “Haidianhuangzhuang” station, and finally get off at “Weigongcun” station.
2.Registration:
a.Students need to take all the required materials (original copies only) and register in person.
b.Dates and times:February 20th and 21st, 2019from 8:30a.m. to11:30 a.m.andfrom1:30p.m.to4:30p.m.
c. Place: Student Service Centre, First Floor of Student Centre Building, East Campus.(See map)Tel: 88816549
d.Materials Required: Admission Notice, JW201/202 Form, Passport (original copies of the above), five two-inch photos(white background). If you have completed the physical examination in your home country, please bring all the physical examination records and other relevant materials (original copies only) with you.Those who live off campus please bring Registration Form of Temporary Residence.
3.Insurance:
All overseas students who study inBFSUfor one semester or longer should purchase Comprehensive Insurance for ForeignersStaying in China(including Medical Insurance for Accidental Injury, Hospitalization and Medical Insurance). Insurance can be purchased from the assigned Insurance Company. The fee is 300RMB for one semester and 600 RMB for one academic year.Overseas students without this insurance cannot register at BFSU.
4.Accommodations:
a.BFSU tries to help in arranging dormitory (bed). For new students, BFSU does not accept dormitory reservation for their first semester and will arrange rooms for students. For the second-semester students can reserve their room types (single room or double room) online.
b.There is a room deposit fee of 400 RMB upon checking in.You will get the refund while checking out.
c.If you live off campus, you have to find the accommodation in advance. You need to go and register at the local police station with your landlord to get the Registration Form of Temporary Residence within 24 hours after you move in. Students living off campus must provide legal residence certificates. Otherwise, you are not allowed to register at BFSU and the public security authorities will not conduct any visa procedure.
5.Payment:
a. You can pay the tuition fee by semester or academic year. (Student from Non-Chinese degree program must pay by academic year.) All the fees will be charged according to the RMB price. You can either pay the tuition fee upon registration or transfer money to BFSU’s bank account prior to your coming. If you choose to make a bank transfer, please keep the transaction receipt and present it to us upon registration. If you fail to pay the full amount without BFSU approval, you will not be able to register at BFSU.
b. For newly enrolled students, if you drop out within one week due to personal reasons, we will give you a full refund of the tuition fee. If you drop out within two weeks, we will keep 20% of the tuition fee and return the rest to you. If you drop out within four weeks, we will keep 50% of the tuition fee and return the rest to you. No tuition fee will be refunded if you drop out after four weeks (from the first day of registration). Application fee will in no case be refunded.
c. If you pay the accommodation fee by semester, you will enjoy a discount.
d. If you check out due to personal reasons in the middle of a semester, accommodation fee will be recalculated: the normal daily price times the exact number of days you live on campus. You can get a refund of the money left.

6.Visa:
a. International students must apply for an X1 or X2 student visa before coming to China (for details please consult Chinese Embassy in your country).According to Chinese laws, students holding an X1visa must apply for a Residence Permit within 30 days of entry into China.Otherwise, they will be considered as illegal residents and be liable to a fine of a maximum amount of10000RMB. They can even be expelled out of China.
b. About physical examination: Students holding an X1 visa must go to the Beijing International Travel Healthcare Centre Haidian Clinic as soon as possible. If you have completed the physical examination in your home country, you must go there to have your physical examination records (original copies only) verified. If you have not completed the physical examination in your home country, you must go there to receive a physical examination. Remember: Immediately after having got your physical examination report, you must come to BFSU Overseas Students Affairs Office to apply for the Student Residence Permit.

Notice:

c. Price (only for reference): For StudentResidence Permit, 400 RMB per 6 months, 800 RMB per 12 months. For physical examination, it varies from 0 to 400 RMB according to the healthcare center.
d. Students who hold an X2 visa and study for one semester only do not need physical examination.
e. If you are unable to apply for an X1 or X2 visa under exceptional circumstances, please contact BFSU Overseas Students Affairs Office by email:visa@bfsu.edu.cnbefore entering China. If you have entered China, please bring your passport to BFSU Overseas Students Affairs Office for consultation.
