I. Insurance Scheme.

1. Insurance Requirements for International Students

According to regulations of China's Ministry of Education, international students must purchase medical insurance valid within mainland China. This insurance covers death and accidental disability compensation, hospitalization, accident-related medical treatment, and outpatient/emergency care. For detailed coverage and exclusions, refer to the Introduction to Comprehensive Medical Insurance Plan for Foreigners in China (www.lxbx.net). Students without the required insurance will not be allowed to register.

2. How to Purchase Insurance

(1) Students may pay premiums and complete insurance procedures on-site during centralized registration.

(2) Students may also self-purchase insurance via the Study Abroad Insurance website (www.lxbx.net), download certificates, and pay using overseas bank cards.

3. International Students with Existing Insurance

International students with insurance purchased in their home countries must still buy the Comprehensive Medical Insurance for Foreigners staying in China during registration. Those who already possess compliant insurance purchased within mainland China must present the original policy document.

4. Insurance Premiums

The premium of the insurance is 800 RMB for one year and 400 RMB for half a year. Please refer to the “Introduction to Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Protection Scheme for Foreigners Staying in China” for details.

The minimum required plan is the 800 RMB/year option (Premium: 800 RMB/year; 400 RMB/half-year). Students may voluntarily upgrade to higher-tier plans. For details, see the Brief List of Multi-Solution Products for International Students.

II. Insurance Service.

1. Students are kindly requested to read through the “Introduction to Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Protection Scheme for Foreigners Staying in China” and know about the insurance coverage and liability exemption before buying the insurance. The details can be found on the website (www.lxbx.net/personal).

2. The service hotline is available for 24 hours: 400-810-5119 in case the student who buys the insurance suffers from some physical discomforts or is in need of medical guidance or hospitalization advances, or has some inquiries about compensation.

3. Students who buy the insurance can take photos to upload claim materials and apply for claims through the website (www.lxbx.net) or WeChat official account "来华留学保险”.

III. Notes.

1. Make sure to call 4008105119 in advance to make a diagnosis inquiry before seeing a doctor.

2. Congenital diseases, pre-existing diseases and driving without a license or permit are not covered by the Insurance.

3. Insurance for international students covers treatment in public hospitals (excluding international department) and general departments. Treatment in private hospitals, special wards in public hospitals, wards for foreign patients, wards for senior officials, VIP wards and equivalence,is not covered.

4. Depending on the circumstances of the visit, if partial hospitalization deposit is required, the student should make the payment first. Upon completion of the treatment, reimbursement of the costs of treatment covered by the insurance can be claimed.

5. The insurance does not cover out-of-pocket expenses. If out-of-pocket expenses incurred during treatment, the student will have to pay by themselves.

6. Notice on the effective date of the insurance: insurance for international student group in the University comes into effects from 25th August or 25th February, other than the date of payment.
