Application Procedures of Beijing Government Scholarship for New International Students in 2026

To support more outstanding foreign students to study or conduct scientific research at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), students who have registered for self-funded programs can apply for the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students at BFSU according to their personal circumstances.

1. Scholarship Scope and Funding Standards

This program provides tuition and insurance funding for one academic year to foreign students planning to study at our university. Tuition funding is based on the tuition standards for various majors published by BFSU for that particular year. The insurance funding standard is 800 RMB per person.

The funding is available to outstanding international students pursuing degree and non-degree education in China. Degree students include undergraduates, master's students, and doctoral students; non-degree students include preparatory students and advanced students (including inter-university exchange students).

2. Application Deadlines

Spring Admission: November 30, 2025

Autumn Admission: June 5, 2026

3. Application Steps and Required Materials

(1) To apply for this program, first download the "Beijing Government Scholarship Application Form for International Students" from the BFSU International Student Online Service System (https://study.bfsu.edu.cn) and fill it out.

(2) Submit the following materials (in Chinese or English) in the designated attachment section of the application system:

a) The completed application form and any other supporting documents deemed necessary by the applicant, such as recommendation letters or award certificates, uploaded under "Other Attachments";

b) Note: Highest diploma certificate and academic transcripts. Generally, the average score of the previous study should not be lower than 80/GPA 3.0. For inter-university exchange students, the average score of the previous academic year should not be lower than 80;

c) Note: HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) certificate or proof of English proficiency. For applicants studying in a program taught in Chinese, the Chinese proficiency should reach at least HSK Level 4;

d) Admission test results for studying in China, submitted under "Other Attachments".

4. Award Announcement

The university will review applicants’ scholarship materials and award scholarships to the most qualified candidates. The awardees’ list will be announced on the BFSU International Students Office website. The announcement period is five working days from the date of publication.

5. Special Notes

(1) Applicants should first meet the admission requirements stipulated in the "BFSU International Student Admission Regulations." The programs applied for must be relevant majors accepted for international students by BFSU, in accordance with the current admission regulations and program catalog published by the university;

(2) Submitted application materials will not be returned regardless of approval, and unsuccessful candidates will not be individually notified;

(3) Applicants are responsible for the authenticity of the materials provided. Any false information will result in consequences borne by the applicant.
