BFSU 2026 New Year Gathering for International Faculty and Students Held

On February 16, Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) held its 2026 New Year Gathering for International Faculty and Students at the Faculty’s Home on the East Campus. The event was attended by Zhao Gang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BFSU Committee and Vice President; He Jing, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office; Jiang Ying, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and Associate Dean of the Overseas Students Affairs Office; as well as nearly 20 international faculty and student representatives from the International Business School, School of Chinese Language and Literature, School of African Studies, School of Asian Studies, and School of European Languages and Cultures.

In his remarks, Zhao Gang reviewed BFSU’s significant progress over the past year in talent cultivation, disciplinary development, and international exchange and cooperation. He expressed sincere appreciation to all international faculty and students for their contributions to strengthening BFSU’s multilingual and globally oriented educational profile, as well as for their role in promoting mutual learning among civilizations. He emphasized that every international faculty member and student is an important part of the BFSU community, and that the university’s steady development would not have been possible without their dedication and collaboration. Zhao also took time to learn about the work, studies, and daily life of those in attendance. He encouraged those remaining on campus during the holiday to experience traditional Chinese New Year customs and immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere. He expressed his hope that everyone would enjoy a safe, healthy, and joyful Spring Festival on BFSU’s multicultural campus. Zhao Gang extended his warm New Year wishes and presented the attendees with festive Spring Festival couplets, creating a lively and heartwarming atmosphere.

The international faculty and students expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the university’s care and support. They shared reflections on their experiences over the past year, including their work in multilingual teaching and cross-cultural learning, and spoke about their hopes and aspirations for the year ahead. As the Year of the Horse approaches, they said they would continue to pursue their dreams with determination while contributing to BFSU’s international development and global engagement.
