On December 12, with the first snowfall of the winter gently descending, the 2026 SICA NIGHT International Students’New Year Gala kicked off warmly at the BFSU Auditorium of Thousands of People. Students from across the globe gathered to celebrate the new year with a vibrant audiovisual spectacle infused with multicultural expression and youthful energy.

Looking back at 2025, BFSU has consistently been dedicated to fostering international cultural exchange, creating fertile ground for dialogue and mutual learning among civilizations. From intercultural discussions in the classroom to cultural salons and shared artistic experiences on campus, Chinese and international students have deepened understanding and forged lasting friendships through continuous, in-depth interaction. This strong foundation of exchange laid the groundwork for the gala’s success.
The pre-show segment was filled with highlights, featuring online influencers and members of Tsinghua University’s ASIC International Cultural Exchange Association sharing heartfelt video messages. These sincere cross-screen wishes added warmth and emotional resonance to the international celebration.

The gala unfolded across four thematic chapters: "Encounter: Tracing the First Light", "Interweaving: Fireflies in a Ring", "Continuity: Resonance in the Night", and "Reflection: A Perfect Closing Circle", with spectacular performances following one another in seamless succession. In the Encounter chapter, a band’s rendition of "American Idiot" instantly fired up the audience, while "Barlang, Let’s Dance!", performed jointly by 20 Chinese and international students, showcased exotic flair. Malaysian and Filipino students delivered moving performances of "Burning Rose" and "If It Rains Afterwards," conveying delicate and heartfelt emotions. The Interweaving chapter featured musical theatre pieces such as "March Women March," "Fumo Fumo," and "Can’t Take My Eyes Off You," alongside collaborative performances including "New Dance" and "Time Thieves," all earning enthusiastic applause. In the Continuity chapter, an Azerbaijani student’s performance of "The Divine Maiden Splits the Scene" captivated the audience. A song medley of "Twenty Three" and "Expect Love," the classical dance "Gilded Moon," and the timeless "Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You" followed in turn, while the encore "Insane" pushed the atmosphere to its peak. The Reflection chapter reignited the spirit of rock with "Rock and Roll" and "Get Back," touched hearts with "Goodbye Gougou," energized the hall with the Japanese dance "Mamma Mia!", and concluded with the entire audience singing "Remember Me," bringing the evening to a memorable close.

The gala was hosted by the BFSU Overseas Students Affairs Office, organized by the SICA International Exchange Association, and co-organized by the School of Chinese Language and Literature and the International Business School. Beyond being just a New Year celebration and talent showcase, the event served as a meaningful dialogue between cultures and a powerful resonance of youthful energy. By bringing together diverse cultures to meet, blend, and flourish on campus, the gala highlighted BFSU’s inclusive cultural ethos and its commitment to promoting mutual learning among civilizations—building a cultural bridge that strengthens friendships and inspires shared visions for the future.
