On November 23, 2025, the 9th Wushu Competition for International Students from Beijing Colleges and Universities in 2025 was successfully held. The BFSU delegation was led by Kailin from the Overseas Students Affairs Office, with Hu Shaohui from the Department of PE and Research serving as the coach. After heated competition, the BFSU delegation ultimately secured three gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal in individual events. Hu Shaohui was awarded the title of “Excellent Coach,” setting a new record for BFSU in this competition.


BFSU student Chen Huilin (Lauren Tan Hui Lin) swept three gold medals in the Women’s Optional Sword, Piguaquan, and Baguazhang, emerging as a star of the competition. Huang Yingqin (Ng Ying Chyn) won the silver medal in the Women’s Primary Yiluchangquan, and MIURA MIO secured the bronze medal in the Women’s 8-form Taichi. BFSU contestants showcased solid martial arts skills and high spirits across various event categories, including optional routines, traditional routines, Taichi, and teaching routines, earning widespread praise from judges and spectators alike.



The competition, organized by the Federation of University Sports of Beijing, brought together 152 international students from 19 universities in Beijing, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing Institute of Technology, and Beijing Foreign Studies University. They competed in over 30 martial arts sub-events, fostering friendship while exchanging skills. The competition provided an important platform for international students in China to experience and exchange aspects of Chinese martial arts culture, deepening their understanding and appreciation of traditional Chinese culture. It also fully showcased BFSU’s achievements in cultivating international talents and building its sports culture.
