BFSU International Students' Participation in the "Lai Hua Cup" 2025 Badminton Invitational Tournament

On May 10, at 9 a.m., the "Lai Hua (Study in China) Cup" 2025 Badminton Invitational Tournament for International Students in Capital Universities officially commenced at China University of Geosciences (Beijing). Eleven BFSU international students from diverse countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Norway, South Korea, and Russia formed two teams and took part in the competition.

After intense competition, our university's representative teams achieved excellent results. One of the teams, in particular, advanced to the top 16 of the tournament with its outstanding strength. The participating students shared their feelings after the game, saying that through this badminton tournament, they not only improved their badminton skills but also interacted with players from different universities and cultural backgrounds. During the competition, everyone cooperated with each other, worked together, and pushed their limits in the face of competition. This combination of sports competition and cultural exchange allowed the students to build up their bodies, enhance their badminton skills, make friends, and gain a better understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.

This tournament was hosted by the Foreign Students Affairs Research Association of the Beijing Higher Education Society and organized by China University of Geosciences (Beijing). A total of 32 participating teams and over 200 Chinese and international students from 26 universities, including Beijing Foreign Studies University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beihang University, and Beijing Sport University, took part. The tournament aimed to improve the physical and mental health of international students studying in China, create a positive campus culture atmosphere, and facilitate international students' relaxation and self - challenge. Moreover, it promoted communication among international students from different universities and enhanced exchanges between universities.
