On January 24, the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) New Year Gathering for International Faculty and Students was held at the Faculty’s Home on the East Campus. The event was attended by Zhao Gang, Vice President of BFSU, He Jing, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Jiang Ying, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and Associate Dean of the Overseas Students Affairs Office, as well as 14 international faculty and student representatives from seven different schools, including the School of Chinese Language and Literature, the School of Asian Studies, and the School of European Languages and Cultures. The gathering was presided over by Jiang Ying.

Vice President Zhao Gang introduced BFSU’s significant progress and achievements in various areas over the past year and expressed gratitude for the contributions made by international faculty and students. He emphasized that each international faculty member and student is an important part of BFSU and that the university is a home for them during their stay in China. Zhao also asked about their work, study, and daily lives, and encouraged them to take time off from their busy schedules to experience China’s rich traditional culture and immerse themselves in the festive spirit of the Chinese New Year, wishing everyone a peaceful, healthy, and joyful holiday. At last, he extended his heartfelt New Year greetings and offered participants couplets on behalf of BFSU. Everybody enjoyed the warm and cheerful atmosphere.

In return, the international faculty and students expressed their sincere gratitude for the university’s care and support. They shared their achievements and experiences over the past year and conveyed their aspirations for the new year. They pledged to keep forging ahead, striving to fulfill their dreams and ambitions, while making even greater contributions to the university’s development.
