On December 11, the inaugural “International Cup” Table Tennis Doubles Campus Competition of BFSU was successfully held in the university gymnasium.
This competition is organized by the Overseas Students Affairs Office and the Physical Education Teaching and Research Department, co-organizeed by SICA and BFSU table tennis club. BFSU President Jia Wenjian and Vice President Zhao Gang attended the opening ceremony. Jia Wenjian declared the opening of the competition and served the first ball. Zhao Gang delivered a speech, where he highlighted BFSU’s goal of promoting cultural exchange and strengthening friendship among faculty and students through sports events. He also encouraged players to perform their best and enjoy the competition, and thanked the organizers and staff for their dedication.
Players were required to form cross-national teams, with 16 teams made up of 32 Chinese and international students and teachers from 19 countries, including Japan, India, Australia, and the Netherlands.
From thrilling preliminaries to intense finals, the court was filled with enthusiasm and friendliness. The superb skills and seamless teamwork demonstrated by the players earned rounds of applause from the audience.
After fierce competition, the duo of Indian student BAIG OMAR and Chinese student Jiang Bowen won the championship. Bulgarian student DIMITROV PETAR ATANASOV and Chinese student Zhao Hanqing secured second place. Estonian teacher Agu Bleive and Chinese teacher Wang Bo took third place.
Beyond being simply a sports event, this competition is a celebration of cross-cultural exchange. It provides a platform for communication and collaboration among Chinese and international faculty and students, demonstrating BFSU’s commitment to diversity and global engagement.
