At 3:00 pm on May 14th, the awards ceremony of the 2020 “100 reasons to love Beijing” short video contest was held in the lecture hall of the Palace Museum. The event was organized by the Information Office of Beijing Municipal and Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
The contest has lasted for 5 months, during which the committee received nearly 1,000 short videos from more than 200 foreigners and 64 countries. Finally, over 100 works outstood and the video “What Makes Me special as an IBS.BFSU Student” directed by International Business School student Beatrice Yong Yue Xuan(Malaysia), “My China Life” directed by School of Chinese Language and Literature student SK Abdullah(India) won the excellence award. Basing on a multi-dimensional perspective, foreign friends share their unique experiences in Beijing via these videos and articles, truly presenting the urban features and cultural significance of Beijing city.BFSU won the organization award.
In addition, at the awards ceremony Chinese and foreign friends cooperatively performed sand painting, Peking Opera, and dance, which implies the integration of modernity and classicality. This ceremony is an affirmation and reward for these outstanding works. It not only shows the public the real and moving stories of foreigners in Beijing, but also spreads the latest, best, and most beautiful image of Beijing.
