In Hu’s speech, on behalf of BFSU, he warmly congratulated the opening of the 2ndBFSU International Carnival, and expressed sincere gratitude to all faculties and students who paid hard efforts in preparing for the carnival.

This May International Carnival was themed as “The Silk Road Linking Five Continents, Different Cultures Connecting the World”, and comprised of four parts including cultural wall, cultural parade, glamor display for foreign countries and art performances. Overseas students from more than 30 countries, including Australia, Germany, Russia, South Korea, Zimbabwe, Laos, Malaysia, Inner Mongolia, America, Myanmar, Japan, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, India and Indonesia, set up display counters for their country. In the display area for China, students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan made full preparations and thrown themselves in this event.

After careful planning and earnest rehearsals, our students finally showed the audiences with their cultures, music, dances and languages they are proud of through Chinese and foreign art performances, stage shows, ethnic clothing parade and exotic foodies. This event can be praised as a great feast of the world’s cultures.

This carnival attracted thousands of teachers and students from both inside and outside of BFSU. Colourful exotic cultures and wonderful art performances presented the audience with a breath of fresh air. Through participating in the games and interactive activities organized by our students, some audiences even gained mutual understanding and enhanced friendship among each other.

The May International Carnival of BFSU is another platform we provide for teachers and students from both home and abroad to communicate with each other. The carnival aims to create more diversified campus culture, guide teachers and students to expand global vision through international exchanges. Thus, students and faculties can know more about the world, explore the world with an open mind, and deepen their understandings of cultural diversity.
