On November 1st, more than 40 overseas students, led by teachers of Overseas Students Affairs Office, visited Fragrant Hills Park (Xiangshan Park) to appreciate natural scenery in Beijing.
Students departed in school bus at one o’clock in the afternoon. On the way, they discussed their experiences of learning Chinese and talked about their lives and study in Beijing. The talk was relaxing and lively.
Arriving at the destination, the students were divided into groups and selected different routes for climbing the hills. Some students chose to go from the southern side to have a look at Shuangqing Villa and Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Hall. Others chose to go up from the path in the north, aiming their way to the highest peak Xianglu Feng (incense-burner peak) for an overlook of the grand Beijing city.
Although the visit lasted only two hours, students accompanied each other, talking and laughing all the way.
They all said that the hill climbing activity enabled them to appreciate the beautiful autumn scenery in Beijing, do some exercises and make new friends, which was a great experience.
