The “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei International Students Debating Tournament” successfully concluded on June 2nd. After three months of intense competition, our international team from the School of Chinese Language and Literature (SCLL) competed against strong opponents from Beijing Language and Culture University, University of International Business and Economics, and Beijing Institute of Technology etc. and won the championship.

The biennial “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei International Students Debating Tournament” showcases pedagogical achievements and students’ capabilities regarding international student education in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Chinese language education for international students at universities in China is comprehensively reviewed and examined during the contest. International students from 16 famous universities in Beijing were screened and shortlisted within three months. Our university has formed a debating team of international students mainly from the School of Chinese Language and Literature since we participated in the contest in 2014. The fact that our students managed to stand out from many other competitive teams and become the overall winner reflects our achievements of international student education and acknowledges the level of teaching Chinese language to international students at BFSU.
